1. Who we are
SlashSlash is a Chrome browser extension that lets you save prompt templates and insert them instantly into Claude and ChatGPT by typing //. It is developed and maintained as an independent project.
If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at: michaelmatibag@gmail.com
2. What data we collect
We collect nothing. SlashSlash does not collect, record, transmit, or process any personal information whatsoever.
Specifically, we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any account information
- The content of your prompts
- Your browsing history or activity on Claude or ChatGPT
- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Any other data of any kind
3. How your prompts are stored
Prompts you create are stored exclusively in Chrome's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) on your own device. This storage is:
- Local only — it never leaves your browser
- Accessible only to the SlashSlash extension — no website or third party can read it
- Cleared automatically if you uninstall the extension
- Never synced to Google's servers (we do not use
chrome.storage.sync)
4. Permissions we request and why
SlashSlash requests the minimum permissions necessary:
-
storage — required to save and retrieve your prompts locally via
chrome.storage.local. -
Host access to claude.ai, chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com — required to inject
the prompt picker UI into those pages so you can insert prompts while you type. The extension
reads only the active input field to detect the
//trigger; it does not read, store, or transmit anything else on those pages.
5. Third-party services
SlashSlash does not integrate with, communicate with, or send data to any third-party service, analytics platform, advertising network, or remote server of any kind. There are no external network requests made by the extension.
6. Children's privacy
SlashSlash does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no data at all, this extension is safe for general use.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the extension handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing update notes.
8. Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete.
You can remove all locally stored prompts at any time by uninstalling the extension or by
clearing extension storage via chrome://settings/content/all.
